Print Press Operator
Compensation: – $20 – $30/hr Based on Experience
Job Purpose
- To efficiently complete the workflow process of the Print Production department
- Operate or tend to various types of printing machines to produce print on paper or other materials as required.
- Provide Total Quality Control function throughout the Production Process
Key Responsibilities
Review docket to determine stock, equipment and total requirements needed for timely and accurate production
Inspect and examine printed products for print clarity, color accuracy, conformance to specifications and external defects
Keep daily time and materials usage reports and records identifying information printed on manufactured products and parts
Meet with Print Production Team Lead & Production Coordinator to review print job prior to commencing the work
Perform initial quality control check on first impression on in house orders and adjust accordingly
Monitor feeding, printing and storage process of equipment to maintain specified operating levels and detect malfunctions.
Ensure Health & Safety Policy and Procedures are adhered to
Skill Requirements
Production and Processing — Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective printing and manufacturing of goods
Mechanical — Knowledge of equipment and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
Operation and Control — Controlling operations of equipment or systems.
Operation Monitoring — Watching gauges, dials, or other indicators to make sure equipment is working properly.
Equipment Selection — Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to complete a specific job.
Quality Control Analysis — Conducting tests and inspections of products, services, or processes to evaluate quality and performance.
Visual Color Discrimination — The ability to match or detect differences between colors, including shades of color and brightness.
Education Requirements
College Diploma or University Degree
Additional courses in Print Production or Operations and other similar functional areas preferred
Experience Requirements
3-5 years of industry experience in Digital Print Production operations.
