Student Focus: Dan Lester Sampang

My name is Dan Lester Sampang, a second-year student taking Graphic Communications and Print Technology at the Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in the heart of Calgary. I would like to express my highest gratitude to the people who have selected me to be part of the Canadian Printing Industries Scholarship this 2023. My love for Graphic Design has led me to this program to gain a foundation about the different types of substrates that are used in printing, colour theory and design principles.

My main goal is to immerse myself in the production side of printing by learning small and large format printers and to familiarize myself with most of the available and compatible media that are offered today. Once I have acquired sufficient knowledge, I wish to go back to being a Graphic Designer and spend the rest of my days contributing to the design community and sharing my knowledge as well as my work experience with all aspiring individuals in this fun and competitive world of graphic design.
